Just a five-minute walk from Arashiyama Station,at Heijou-in, a Shingon Esoteric Buddhist temple,two special experiences unfold — one by day and one by night
The night session is a Goma fire ritual inside the main hall,where art technology and Shingon Esoteric Buddhism converge. 🔥
The sound of bursting flames and live mantra chantingis captured in real time with binaural microphonesand delivered as three- dimensional audio through headphones,offering an otherworldly level of immersion.
Smoke fills the space,and AI-generated mandala imagery floats in the air,manifesting the esoteric cosmos.
Beyond the Goma ritual itself,participants can join overtone mantra sessions,receive the special ceremonial drink
“Miroku”experience singing bowl performances and shavasana —a Goma ceremony found nowhere else.
